DESCRIPTION:We will be hosting local author Margery Reynolds (pen name Dale M Rutherford) for a signing of her Muskoka Cottage Series on April 18.  Margery spent years as a bookstore owner herself\, running Novel-Teas in Niagra before closing the store to start her own writing journey.  The first book in the series “One Summer at Ril Lake” is described as “gentle love story about family dynamics\, secrets kept and secrets revealed”.  She also teaches creative writing so this is a great chance for aspiring writers to come and ask their burning questions! \nShe will be joining us at 2:00 on April 18 and we hope to see you there.

SUMMARY:Indie Book Store Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:It’s back and we couldn’t be more excited!  Last year’s extravaganza was beyond our wildest dreams.  The store was packed from open to close and we had so much fun connecting with customers and feeling close to our bookseller community.  This year we have a few exciting new things. In addition to the passport featuring 16 local book stores\, we are also going to have Dawg Gone It food truck on Saturday (11:30-2:30) and El Mero Mero Taco Truck (11:30 – 2:30) on Sunday. \nOur friends at Libro.fm have provided us with a Golden Ticket for a years worth of audiobook credits that will be hidden somewhere in the store on Saturday\, April 25.  Whoever is lucky enough to find it can redeem the golden ticket for 12 credits!  We’re extending our store hours to fit in all this fun\, opening at 9:00am on Saturday and closing at 6:00.  Sunday we will open at 10:00 to 6:00. \nTo learn more about the event and plan your weekend\, visit yegindiebookstores.ca for updates and information as we iron out plans.

SUMMARY:Book Journaling Workshop with Plan It With Stickers
DESCRIPTION:Bailey Books is thrilled to be hosting Selina Chan\, founder of Plan It With Stickers\, for a book journaling workshop.  Book journaling is a great way to not only track your reading but experiment with different layouts and let your creativity run wild.  Your ticket will include a blank journal and selection of stickers to get you started\, with more available for purchase after the workshop is done.\n\nSelina will talk us through how Book Journaling started\, why it became such a popular trend\, and what we can learn from the hobby of Book Journaling.\nThen we explore the different types of layouts that can be created in a book journal. From simple and minimalistic to full tracker pages that are fully decorated to the edges of the paper.\nAttendees will receive a handout of these different types of layouts to get a visual reference of these different design options.  Selina will also bring some of her own journals to pass around during the workshop.  This will help inspire you to try new and exciting layouts for your own book journal!\n\nWe expect this workshop to take about 60-90 minutes and guests are welcome to browse the Plan It With Stickers selection after it’s wrapped up.\n\nIf this sounds like your idea of a good time\, tickets are available here.  We have limited seating so don’t delay!
