Stephen King Book Club – The Gunslinger/The Drawing of the Three

It’s finally time for the Stephen King Book Club to embark on our long-awaited journey to the Tower! Over the next few months, we’ll be diving deep into Stephen King’s magnum opus, The Dark Tower series. Whether you’ve traveled these paths before or you’re meeting Roland, Susannah, Eddie, Jake and Oi for the very first time, we’re excited to experience this epic saga together.

For those unfamiliar, The Dark Tower is a genre-defying series that blends fantasy, horror, and western themes into an unforgettable narrative about fate, friendship, and the quest for the elusive Dark Tower. As we journey through King’s rich, complex world, we’ll encounter iconic villains like the Man in Black, grapple with mind-bending realities, and explore the threads that weave this story into so many of King’s other works.

As some of you may know, The Dark Tower is the epicenter of the Stephen King multiverse.  There is many different opinions on what is considered “required reading” when reading the Dark Tower series.  While we strongly feel you can enjoy this series even as your first King book, if you want the full experience you may want to read ‘The Stand’ and ‘The Eyes of the Dragon’ before tackling the first two DT books.  This list is what we will be using as our guide throughout this journey.
